The SkyBell servers were updated to create a smarter and faster SkyBell experience.

One of the outcomes of this update is that you will need to re-create your account and re-sync SkyBell. This process is a little different than the first time so please follow these instructions accurately. We apologize for the inconvenience yet believe these changes will provide you with a better experience moving forward.

Instructions – iOS

  1. Open the app.
  2. If you see your current SkyBell, tap it and go to the device settings screen.
  3. Write down your Activation Code (Device ID).
  4. Return to the home screen of the app.
  5. Then sign out of the app by tapping the settings icon in the top right corner.
  6. You’ll need to re-create your account. To do this, tap “Register”. You can use the same email and password as you did before.
  7. When you see the home screen, you may see your current device. That is ok.
  8. Tap the settings wheel in the top left corner.
  9. Tap “Add SkyBell”.
  10. Enter your Activation Code (device ID) and tap next.
  11. Leave the Wi-Fi password blank (even if you have a Wi-Fi password).
  12. *Do not put SkyBell into sync mode and tap Next.
  13. After a couple of minutes you will be presented with the screen to name your SkyBell. Please name your SkyBell and tap next.
  14. After clicking continue/next through the rest of the setup, you should see your SkyBell back on the home screen of the app.
  15. Give SkyBell 5 minutes and then press the button to make a test call.

Note:

  1. You do not need to remove your old device from the app before re-syncing.
  2. You do not need to put SkyBell back into sync mode.

Instructions – Android

  1. Open the app.
  2. If you see your current SkyBell, tap it and go to the device settings screen.

  4. Return to the home screen of the app.
  5. Then sign out of the app by tapping the settings icon in the top right corner.
  6. You’ll need to re-create your account. To do this, tap “Register”. You can use the same email and password as you did before.
  7. When you see the home screen, you may see your current device. That is ok.
  8. Tap the settings wheel in the top left corner.
  9. Tap “Add a SkyBell”.
  10. *Do not put SkyBell into sync mode and tap Next.
  11. Enter your Activation Code (Device ID) and tap next.
  12. Leave the Wi-Fi password blank (even if you have a Wi-Fi password).
  13. After a couple of minutes you will be presented with the screen to name your SkyBell. Please name your SkyBell and tap next.
  14. After clicking continue/next through the rest of the setup, you should see your SkyBell back on the home screen of the app.
  15. Give SkyBell 5 minutes and then press the button to make a test call.

Note:

  1. You do not need to remove your old device from the app before re-syncing.
  2. You do not need to put SkyBell back into sync mode.

Troubleshooting

If that does not work, please follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the SkyBell button for 45 seconds. At that time you will see the device blink quickly. Once it does that, let go and let it restart. This resets SkyBell.
  2. Then, sign out of the app
  3. Completely close the app
  4. Restart your smartphone
  5. Sign back into the app
  6. Follow the normal syncing process by putting SkyBell into sync mode and entering Wi-Fi password

Activation Code

If you do not have your Activation Code (device ID), please scan your device QR code with the Bakodo App and send us the serial number provided. It may also be printed below the QR code itself.
